Introducing — .NYC!

Since 2000, a group of us have been working hard to get an Internet address for New York City. You’re familiar with .com and .net, and perhaps you’ve heard of .uk (United Kingdom) or .fr (France). Well, now imagine .NYC for New York City. We believe that the world’s greatest city should have its own Internet address, and that New Yorkers — people, businesses, associations, institutions, and the New York City Government — should be able to get a .nyc domain name to use for email and web sites. Now, finally, ICANN (the group that approves new web addresses) is going to allow .NYC to move forward.
